Ahava Dead Sea Liquid Salt
review by Amy Castle
Salt is renowned for its detoxing properties and the Dead Sea itself is said
to be great for the skin with its cleansing qualities.
This Ahava product contains liquid salt particles that cleanse and detox
your skin, and also boasts natural anti ageing ingredients. An impressive
32% of the product is Dead Sea minerals.
The look of the product is very impressive, with its emphasis on natural
skin care and dramatic effects – I was impressed!
I then convinced my Mum to test the product with me, and after applying the
product and massaging in, avoiding the face, I left the product on for two
minutes.
During this time, my skin tingled, which can be expected from the salt.
However, unfortunately it went further than just a tingle and started to
sting. After two minutes, I washed off the gel. Little did I know it would
sting further once in the shower.
Admittedly, my skin was soft after using the product, but the stinging
sensation during use stuck in my mind.
The product is dermatologically tested and “suitable for sensitive skin” but
as this product irritated my skin during use, I personally would not
recommend it for sufferers of skin complaints, such as eczema.
The directions on the tube were not the clearest and despite saying not
suitable for the face, I felt that more details could have been given. The
biggest absent direction I feel was “do not use on broken or shaved/waxed
skin”, as my Mum found out the hard way.
The Ahava product range is impressive, as I have used products from this
company before and I was impressed. It’s great to have a company that use so many natural ingredients and have such a vast range of products, maybe this
one just wasn’t for me.
The label says “Pure Treat” but personally, I’m not so sure due to the
stinging sensation.
