SKIN.NY skincare

When a skincare range claims to contain a miraculous anti-ageing ingredient, most of us quite justifiably don’t believe the hype. We’ve discovered, at great personal and financial cost, that it’d be as effective to have a portrait ageing on our behalf in the attic as it is to use the majority of ‘miracle’ lotions and potions on the market. SKIN.NY, however, is an entirely different kettle of fish.
The small, but perfectly formed, range of three key products – Radical Restructure Complex, Radical Daily Precision and Radical Eye Contour – proved to be so effective at staving off the ravages of time on the skin that trial results were published in the British Journal of Dermatology. It’s the first time in the Journal’s 118-year-history that an anti-ageing product has ever made it to the pages, and lends real weight to claims that SKIN.NY does precisely what is says on the tubes.
Developed around an ingredient that sounds like a robot from Star Wars – QAL-100 – the SKIN.NY range declares all-out war on wrinkles and sun damage. Like a painless facial peel without the side effects (redness, soreness, skin peeling), QAL-100 penetrates deep into the skin and delivers visible results in just four weeks. Radical Restructure Complex is the first weapon in the SKIN.NY arsenal, intensively improving skin from within, while Radical Daily Precision continues the good work by helping to prevent wrinkles reappearing, fighting sun damage and reducing acne scarring. Radical Eye Contour works hard to reduce eye bags, tighten the skin and reduce crow’s feet wrinkles.
Simply packaged in white tubes, the SKIN.NY range feels velvety to the touch and is virtually fragrance free. A little goes a very long way, and – as warned in the accompanying literature – my face tingled after using Radical Restructure Complex. The tingling lasted only a few minutes, and didn’t irritate my skin, which is prone to sensitivity. Results are immediate – skin feels soft, smooth and hydrated – but it’s the long-term effects that are really impressive. After a month of using the Restructure Complex, my fine lines were visibly reduced and my skin looked fresh and youthful. Really. And a further six weeks of using the maintenance products, Radical Daily Precision and Radical Eye Contour ensured that when I went to test a micro-dermabrasion treatment at a salon, I was turned away because my skin was: “too good” to benefit further! Of course, such results do come at a cost: products range from £45 to £55. Still, it’s far cheaper than a face lift.
A skincare product that really delivers. It may be time to contact the Vatican.
