New Year for me always equals a new wardrobe. Despite the weather still giving us sporadic snow storms and sludgy skies, I have already started the careful process of weeding through my clothes in preparation for the new season ahead. This spring clean has also led me to the realisation that at some point in the near future there will be a need for me to peel off the layers of winter leggings and knee length socks to reveal my pasty body to the world. The horror! Luckily it seems that Ahava may have come to my rescue to help me get my skin looking good in time for spring with their Pure Energizing Body Mud Mask.

The product benefits from the anti-aging properties of Dunaliella seaweed, moisturising agents and dead sea minerals which promise to help purify the skin, leaving it revitalised and more radiant. It also aims to replenish skin, intensely cleanse and aid the skin’s natural repair process. With a fresh and delicious smelling blend of mandarin and cedarwood, I applied a thin-ish layer and waited in anticipation for the Mud Mask to help the great detoxification begin…

It is pretty easy to apply and could very simply be added into my shower routine. One important thing to note is that the mask has quite a fine texture so you need to apply it to completely dry skin otherwise it slips off.

After using the product my skin definitely felt softer and silkier to the touch. The texture was also noticeably improved, feeling smoother than my previously quite dry skin. My body felt refreshed and the heady and exotic fragrance leaves a lovely lingering smell.

The results, although subtle to begin with, were definitely encouraging and after a couple of uses I felt I was getting good value from the product. At £14.00 for a 250gm tube, it costs a little more than I usually splash out on skincare but I was pleasantly surprised with this luxurious product. With a few more applications I will soon be ready to flash some flesh in confidence (weather permitting).
