Let those eyelashes flutter this spring - Clinique’s new High Lengths mascara
review by Amy Castle
Spring is the season for pastel shades, light make-up and open eyes. So how do you get long but light eyelashes?
Clinique’s new High Lengths mascara is the answer. With an applicator designed to capture each lash, the brush itself is sculpted so it leans towards your lashes, ensuring each one is picked up and defined. The liquid itself is thin, and doesn’t gloop like tar like some mascaras do. Instead, the dainty applicator picks up just enough liquid to finely coat each lash, and grabs even the tiny ones that seem to shy away being detected by some brushes.
I found the overall look of my lashes unlike anything I had tried before. Not only were my lashes defined, but I had a false eyelash effect from the first brush stroke. Not a thick, over-the-top look, but an opened-eyed and refreshed lash look, long but thin.
What’s more, Clinique have a Lash Building Primer which adds even more to your eyes. Its thick brush grabs onto the white liquid, and when applied before mascara, lashes become longer than imaginable. I used the mascara on its own first, and was amazed by the effect, but the effect was even more dramatic and noticeable when I applied the primer first.
Clinique’s make-up is great for a more natural effect, and the smell always attracts me. A fresh aroma, without the alcohol smell attached to it is an attraction to all of Clinique’s products. Where some brands seem to over-do the smell – especially in their mascaras – Clinique always seem to avoid the harsh aromas with theirs.
Like a magic wand for the eyes, both the High Lengths mascara and Lash Building Primer are a must-have for fluttery lashes this season. Clumps are so last year, and are definitely avoidable with this mascara and primer.
Clinique’s High Lengths mascara is available from www.clinique.co.uk and all good department stores RRP £14.50, and Clinique’s Lash Building Primer RRP £10. |
