During the summer months, keeping skin moisturised can be difficult. With harsh sun rays, summer cocktails and late nights all wreaking havoc on my skin, I was in need of a treat.

Beauty Tried & Tested: Chanel’s Moisturising CollectionChanel’s Hydramax Active Moisture Tinted Lotion
Chanel’s Hydramax Active Moisture Mask was the first port of call for my dry summer skin. The mask was creamy and thick, but glided on with ease and didn’t clog up my pores. After applying to clean skin and leaving on for 10 minutes, the instructions said to wipe off any excess product with a cotton pad. Excess? What excess? My thirsty skin had soaked-up all of the masque in minutes, and my skin felt wonderfully smooth after – and not greasy. The next morning, putting on my make up was easier than normal – I didn’t have my usual dry patches on my forehead and cheeks. Instead, my skin was perfectly smoothed, and looked more even. Success.

Then I tried Chanel’s Hydramax Active Moisture Tinted Lotion. I have a naturally pale complexion, but apply gradual and fake tanners most days. When it came to choosing the colour of this product, I went a couple of shades darker than my normal skin to ensure my face would match my body when I was sporting a tan. I tried Sand and was very pleased. When first squeezing out the tinted lotion I noted its thickness, and wondered if it would drag on my skin.

However, when I glided the lotion over my skin, it gave me instant colour, moisture and a nice dewy glow. It stayed on well, too. After a rather long shopping trip around town in the summer heat, the product was still on when I returned home. If only my feet were in such a good state after my trip... The tinted lotion is great for moisture and colour, but perhaps the coverage could be better. Although it was applied easily, I felt my dark circles weren’t covered too well – but then again it is a moisturiser as opposed to a real foundation.

Hydramax Active Nutrition Lip CareMy final little saviour was the Hydramax Active Nutrition Lip Care. This balm was a real life saver for my dry lips, and didn’t feel oily and sticky. Instead, it glided across my lips, and they stayed moisturised for hours. Even when swimming, the balm stayed on and my lips were smooth and soft.

All three products had the same fresh, clean smell and it was nice to have each product match the scent of the rest. The Chanel Moisturising products are great for summer weather, and I have a sneaky suspicion they won’t be at all shabby when autumn comes, either...

The Chanel Hydramax collection are priced from £26 to £32 and available online and in all good department stores.
