Beauty Tried & Tested: Bleu de Chanel

The eau de toilette found a happy owner in the form of my brother, Ben, who used it on a daily basis and reported back to me with his findings.  And, okay, I’ll admit it, I wore it too – all in the name of beauty!

The first impression given from the fragrance was its deep, woody smell. Next came notes of sandalwood, mint and an interesting peppery odour.

Bleu de Chanel is a lot deeper in terms of scent and complexity than some other fragrances for men. Some smell distinctly “manly” but have no real substance - Bleu de Chanel is different and is a really beautiful fragrance. With warm notes of ginger and nutmeg, the scent is spicy and alluring.

Even the pump itself expels the fragrance perfectly, misting out from the midnight-blue glass bottle and dusting the skin lightly with the aroma. Some bottles spray the contents out in all directions, but the Chanel bottle and pump meant the fragrance was distributed evenly and thinly on the skin.

The scent is very sophisticated and deep, and with autumn now upon us, the scent will suit the season well, in my opinion.
