Beauty Tried & Tested: Fabulous feet with Scholl

Footcare company Scholl - who have started the "Keep Britain on its Feet" campaign - have a wide range of foot care suitable for every problem you could possibly imagine.

Now, being 21, I can’t personally say I have many problems with my feet (apart from aching feet the next morning after nights out in skyscraper heels). I needed someone who had various qualms and problems with their feet… cue my mum!

The first rule of foot care is exfoliating to remove dead and hard skin. With the Party Feet Smoothing Foot File, every last trace of hard skin - especially on the heels and balls of the feet -were removed. I sat back and let my mum try out the products (feet aren’t my favourite part of the body, especially when they’re not my own…)

The Skin Softener Pen was great for applying to the really tough patches of dry skin. Once softened with the foot file, my mum applied the pen evenly over problem areas. Within minutes, the liquid had been soaked-up and the skin was left soft and incredibly smooth.

I felt I must try the products myself, so reached for the Hard Skin Softening Cream, applying it all over my feet both on top and underneath. The lotion sank-in really well, and my feet felt smooth and moisturised for days.

And then for a more “severe-looking” contraption: the Instant Hard Skin Remover. Reminiscent of the bottom of an iron (honestly!), with circular crevices and circles, the utensil was strange to say the least. But it worked really well, and removed even the toughest of problem areas on the feet. My mum used it a couple of times a week, and said it was great for her heels.

The rest of the Scholl range I received included Party Feet Gel Cushions, blister plasters, pads and support for nights out in high heels – something I have a lot of practice in! The gel cushions were perfect for supporting my tired feet, and really made a difference the next day when the pain usually kicks-in.

The Party Feet Flip-Flop Strips – priced at £1.99 – provided real comfort when wearing toe-separating shoes and sandals. The Party Feet Sling Back Strips (£4.00) gave extra protection from strappy sandals rubbing my heels sore.

Tested over a 3-week period, the Scholl range not only gave me a reason to don my heels and head out, but provided comfort and reassurance on an area of the body that is usually a no-go area.

With a family wedding just two weeks away, rest assured the Scholl range will be put to good use in my house.

Did you know…?  70% of women in Scholl’s survey would avoid wearing high heels if they thought they would suffer from bunions, and 51% of women are grossed-out by unattractive feet.
