Ahava Mineral Makeup Care
Review by Amy Castle
Dead sea minerals and seaweed aren’t exactly what I expected from a foundation, but I was pleasantly surprised with Ahava’s new range of foundations.
The unique use of age-defying Dunaliella seaweed had me captivated, and the application of the deadsea algae rich foundation was smooth and it had great coverage. The liquid was rather rich, but my dark circles and grey areas were covered well. The aroma of the makeup was clean and pleasant, and the colour – sand – I found perfect for my skin that was covered in gradual tanner.
After a while, I felt the need to re-apply the make up, especially around my eyes and mouth, perhaps my skin was too dry for this natural treat!
The next treat was the Mineral Makeup Care powder foundation, a loose powder foundation that was easily applied with a brush. This was great for all-over coverage, and I was able to highlight my cheekbones with the powder for even more colour. The powder didn’t stay on long enough for my skin at first, as I have a rather dry complexion. However, once I had the right make up base, the powder stayed on longer. The key was moisturiser, but it had to be properly dry before applying the powder.
I was amazed to sea one ingredient listed: dead sea water. Amazing! A real unique selling point of this range, and you can almost feel the luxurious and natural goodness of the foundations.
The Ahava Makeup Care range is great for good coverage, but a good moisturiser is needed when applying the powder if you have naturally dry skin. The liquid foundation covered grey circles and looked flawless on first application, and the easy blending was great. |
