Luscious Lashes from Dior
Review by Amy Castle
Short of applying fake lashes, it can be difficult to create a dramatic evening look for your eyes. False eyelashes, and indeed false eyelash effects, are very much in fashion this season, but it can be easy to get it wrong.
I personally hate spider-eyes (à la Katie Price...) and find some mascaras can clog any lashes you do have, resulting in a really fake look. Dior’s Blackout Mascara and Maximiser Lash Plumping Serum are two handy little magic wands for dramatic eyes.
The serum is a white liquid that clings and highlights all of your lashes in a couple of swoops of the brush. After leaving to dry slightly for a few seconds, the mascara is applied over the top of it, resulting in really long lashes. Every tiny lash was captured by the serum, and the Blackout mascara gave a dark covering over the serum.
The look I got when applying both products was very dramatic and if anything, I’d say that the serum should be left for application in the evenings under the mascara, as for the day (at least on my eyes) the look was a bit over-dramatic.
The mascara dried really quickly, whereas some can take a long time to dry, meaning you get annoying imprints on the top of your eyelid, but with this product that was avoided.
A great duo from Dior for a wide-eyed look.
