  Striking lashes for evening glamour
Review by Amy Castle

I never attend an evening event without a set of false lashes on. Despite having long lashes myself, I find the look of falsies make the whole eye open up and adds instant glamour.

Beauty Tried & Tested: Striking lashes for evening glamour

I tried the Burlesque Beauty range of lashes from Girls with Attitude. With a wide range of available, I tried the Coco and Showtime lashes. The Coco set were thick black, with wide lashes and a sweeping look. They looked rather fake on first application, and to be honest most lashes do. However, after applying liner and eyeshadow, the lashes looked less out of place., and the look was complete.

The strip of the Coco lashes was thicker than any I have tried before, which meant after use, pulling the glue off of the lash strip didn’t pull off the lashes with it like some thinner ones do.

The Showtime set were individual lashes, finished with a diamante on each. I must admit, this gave a totally different look to what I was used to, but was pretty and dainty. My eyes looked really open and I didn’t need eyeshadow. A sweep of liner set off the look, and once again the lashes stayed put all night.

The lashes were fit for a more glamorous evening look, so perfect for the approaching party season. With a precision applicator for easy gluing, both sets were easy to wear and the glue was really strong.

Next up was the La La Lashes  by Lash Perfect. Once again, both sets I tried gave a dramatic look, but I guess that’s the thing with false sets – they can’t really look overly natural, can they?

I tried the Dazzle  and Dorable lashes. The first thing I noticed was the extreme curl of both sets, which was unlike ones I had tried before. They turned up at the ends dramatically, which, on application, was rather irritating as I couldn’t get them straight. However, once on, the look was great and after the trusty eyeliner was applied once again I loved how they looked.

The Dorable set were thick and black, and imitated Cheryl Cole’s look with dark colour and thickness. The Dazzle set is were thinner in the amount of lashes on each strip, but at the base there was a lien of gold glitter, adding a party look.

I was really impressed with both brands. With the increasing popularity of false eyelashes, it’s nice to see a variety of thicknesses and styles.
