I too have had my fair share of tanning disasters, but over the years I’ve come across some real winners of products, and now couldn’t do without a natural-looking glow.
Needless to say, I was excited at the prospect of trying the newest releases in the run up to the summer season that is fast approaching.
Tantasiafrom Jane Iredale requires no moisturiser as it contains wheat protein that provides natural hydration, so is perfect to use straight out of the shower and doesn’t require too much skin preparation like most tanners do.
The idea behind Tantasia is the adaptive aspect of the product, which matches your natural skin tone and enhances it. Acetyl Tyrosine and Monk’s Pepper stimulate melanin synthesis, allowing the colour you end up with to be adapted from your natural tanned colour, therefore leaving the body with a natural and accurate tan. So no tell-tale signs of fake tanning!
The He-Shi tanning range consists of over 7 products aimed at giving a natural-looking tan for both men and women. With fans including Christine Bleakley, Cameron Diaz and Lady GaGa, I couldn’t wait to try out some of the products.
He-Shi Express Liquid Tan was a really watery brown liquid, instantly adding colour and suitable for all over the body and face. My first attempt with the tanning mitt proved difficult, as I applied the product onto the mitt and ending up pouring half of it on the floor (doh!), but eventually I got used to the consistency of the product and had it mastered.
The result was a really even tan – like nothing I had tried before – which I believe was definitely down to the texture of the product. Whilst some drag and go sticky, this liquid was a dream to apply and dried so quickly that I found myself applying it just before going out for a really flawless look.
