Clarins TriActive Facial – The Energy Recharger
review by Amy Castle
Having used the Clarins Daily Energizer range – see review here - I was excited to be having a facial using the products by one of the Clarins experts at the spa within John Lewis in Reading.
On a Saturday morning, after a rather heavy night out the night before, my skin needed a pick-me-up as it was looking dull and was incredibly dehydrated.
Aimed at 18 to late 20s skin, the facial started with a consultation where the beauty therapist discussed the products I was using at home, and what problem areas I thought I had. I then lay down and relaxed as the therapist gave my skin the attention it needed.
The first stage was to cleanse and detoxify. My skin was cleansed with the Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel, which I had been using at home. Next up was the Clarins Pro Double Exfoliation and Clarins Pro Soothing Supplement.
Stage two consisted of intensive treatment and massage, where Clarins Pro Hydrating Supplement was used (to combat my dry skin), followed by an oil massage to lock-in the nutrients. Then came the Clarins Pro Radiance Plant Based Mask. A mask was applied that dried within a minute, and the therapist peeled it off in one go, leaving my skin feeling like a dull layer had been removed. I laughed at just how different my skin felt, and promised myself facials would become a regularity from now on.
The final stage was aimed at optimising and protecting. The Wake Up Booster, Clarins Pro Radiance Supplement and Daily Energiser Day Cream was applied. I was left feeling awake and refreshed.
The facial was results-driven, so the therapist took a really close-up look at my skin, deep cleansed, detoxified and rehydrated my skin in what I can only call an ultra-relaxing and tailored facial. My skin was massaged, my pores were cleansed and after the treatment my skin was glowing and it really did look and feel as though it had been thoroughly cleansed and nourished. It had a new lease of life.
Over the next few days, the usual spots appeared, but this was easily controlled with the Daily Energizer range I continued to use at home.
I would highly recommend this ultra-tailored facial to those within the suggested age group. I was amazed at just how soft and refreshed my skin was over the next few days, which was prolonged by using the Daily Energizer range at home afterwards.
The facial even included a hand and arm or foot massage, and my neck was massaged too, releasing the tension and making the whole experience delightful. It was clear that the beauty therapist, Maria, knew what she was doing and was polite and friendly, further enhancing the experience. Products were also suggested to me and I came away with recommendations tailored to me.
The facial lasted 40 minutes and was priced at £28. For more information, visit www.uk.clarins.com |
