But there's so much more to the line than just a body wash or hand cream and now they've made it so much easier to explore the range by giving it a complete over-haul. As Ahava themselves put it – it's been reborn. Formulations have been improved; packaging has been updated to look cleaner and fresher and the various lotions, oils and serums have been categorised so that it's much simpler to find what you need.
Time to Clear, Time to Smooth, Time to Hydrate and Time to Revitalise keep the face side of things pretty straightforward and in the body department Dead Sea Water, Dead Sea Mud, Dead Sea Salts and Dead Sea Plants tell it like it is.
If you're already an Ahava fan fret not, they haven't messed around with the really important elements – the unique mineral formulations at the heart of the products remain in place. But they've made sure that everything is now free of parabens, petroleum, harsh synthetics, SLS/SLES and GMOs and they've rejigged recipes to give better performance and 'a more sensory experience'. So, feels good AND does you good.
There are also one or two new additions to the Ahava family. Part of the Revitalise line is Extreme Night Treatment (£78 - 30ml) which combines the minerals with vitamin-rich essences – special anti-ageing ingredients (like goji berries) from the Himalayas (so the lowest and highest points on earth!). The treatment has a slightly oily, gel-like texture and it just needs two pumps to glide over face, neck and throat to help smooth away wrinkles, hydrate and firm the skin. It absorbs very quickly (don't let the oil description put you off) and will suit all types of skin.
Morning and night I've been using Age Control Intensive Serum (£45- 30ml) from the Time to smooth line. A slightly creamier gel-lotion it contains anti-oxidant-rich ingredients like date and algae extracts to really work at reducing wrinkles, protecting and boosting hydration levels in the skin. Post-30 I would advise anyone to supplement their regime with a serum like this.
My final treat from the re-vamped range is Dead Sea Plants Dry Oil body Mist (£25 - 100ml) which is doing great things for my end-of-summer parched skin. With jojoba and sesame seed oils, as well as nourishing algae with its high concentrations of beta-carotene to act as a natural anti-oxidant, it soaks in beautifully and works on post-shower damp skin as well as dry limbs during the day. it smells great too – mandarin and cedarwood – just to keep the holiday mood alive a little longer.
