Ben Harper rocks Rome on Earth Day Gig Review
written by Sav D’Souza
Ben Harper played a rousing set to thousands of people who converged to the Piazza del Popolo in Rome for this year’s Earth Day concert on April 22.
On a balmy evening Harper and his band Relentless7 played tracks from their forthcoming new album, White Lies for Dark Times. Other artists that played on the night were Nigerian soul singer Nneka and Parisian afro funkers Bibi Tanga & the Selenites who were the first signings on the new Nat Geo Music’s record label. Italian rockers Subsonica were also on the line up and delighted the largely Italian crowd.
The free concert was hosted by Nat Geo Music channel that broadcast and streamed the event live to the US and around Europe.
Nat Geo Music channel used the annual Earth Day bash to raise greater awareness of environmental issues and also as a platform for their music channel and new music label. |
