Stella does something funny for money
written by Nicky Branagh
Sponsored silence, fancy dress, waxing. All things commonly associated with raising money. Comic Relief is creeping upon us, and it’s time to start thinking about what we could possibly do, to add to the Red Nose Day fund.
So, don’t think you can pipe down for a full working day? Not up for a bit of cross-dressing? Too squeamish to get waxed? Why not take a leaf out of Keira Knightley’s book, or David Walliams’ for that matter, and take a shopping trip to T K Maxx.
Stella McCartney has produced a range of T-shirts made from 100% cotton, originating from Fairtrade certified and organic co-operatives in Africa. Not impressed yet? Not only will you have to fork out just £10 for this designer bargain in none other than T K Maxx, but at least £8 of it will go towards Comic Relief.
And if that wasn’t enough, thoughtful Stella has decided to get the whole McCartney gang involved. What a quaint little family affair! The range includes a print of Paul McCartney (with his fellow Beatle, each stamped with a little Red Nose), which was taken by Linda McCartney, while Mary McCartney (Stella’s older sister) has snapped the T-shirts designed by her sibling.
Other T-shirts feature photographs of Morecambe and Wise or Madonna adorning their comedy Red Nose’s; however my personal favourite is most definitely of the Beatles. Perhaps it’s the family connection that I’m a sucker for…
Do something (slightly less) funny for money and get the latest designer offering at T K Maxx today, showing your support for Red Nose Day 2009. |
