Lingerie to put a spring in your step - Freya, Fantasie and Fauve ranges
review by Alison Daniels
Spring is the time of year when a young man’s fancy turns to thoughts of
love. A young woman, however, is just as likely to be thinking about giving
her wardrobe a revamp with a few key updates.
Having a reassessment of your underwear is a good place to start. Get rid of
anything greying, sagging or beginning to show signs of wear. Get yourself
properly measured, or do it at home. Up to seven out of ever ten women wear
the wrong bra size, leading to unsightly bulges, overspill and the dreaded
mono-bosom worn at waist height.
Wearing the right bra can make you look taller and slimmer, so getting your
size right can be a great appearance booster. If you want to do it at home,
then grab a tape measure and note the measurement under your boobs, roughly
where the band of your bra goes. Take the measurement in inches, rounding to
the nearest inch. If the figure is even, add four inches, and if it’s odd,
then add five. This gives you your size. To get cup size measure round your
boobs at their fullest part. Wear a bra if this makes it easier. Note this
measurement, then take the first number away. This should give you a low
number in inches. If you end up with a figure like 65, then you can probably
earn a living on some specialist websites, even though you can’t walk
upright, or you should have being paying a bit more attention in maths. 1
inch makes you an A cup, 2 a B, 3 a C etc. This is a rough guide, but
there’s a fair variation between different types of bra and brands, so it’s
worth trying a few different styles and sizes.
Eveden own a number of British lingerie brands including Freya, Fantasie and
Fauve and this season’s lines include some really pretty designs that are
well made and well priced. They offer support, but not at the expense of
sweetness and sexiness. Good underwear will make you feel better about
yourself. Buying a five pack of plain black briefs from the supermarket for
£4 might be terribly practical, but you should be investing more in
yourself.
Top picks from Fantasie include Ava, a great smooth moulded black strapless
bustier that will work well with this season’s body-con trend and Kara, a
balcony bra with wide set straps in a raspberry pink confection of Austrian
embroidery, with matching briefs or thong. Kara is available in up to a K
cup, and is also available in white.
Freya have gone with a pastel theme this season, featuring delicate floral
motifs and butterflies on the super-cute sugar pink Mimi range. Other
options include Retro, a fantasic plunge bra in a refreshing lime and white
pattern and Mischa, an underwired plunge bra in white with a black and white
checked trim and floral embroidery. Freya ranges run from a 28D all the way
to a 38G.
Fauve is more about special occasion lingerie with lots of Italian
embroidery and sensuous fabrics. The standout of the Carlotta range has to
be Fauve’s first ever corset. If you’ve ever wondered how 1950’s films stars
managed to look so curvy, give a corset a shot and find out. Bethany is
another stylish line for spring that deserves a place in your underwear
drawer. Available in a 30D to a 38F, Bethany features powder pink and silver
embroidery on a white mesh fabric. The matching brief have a keyhole cut out
at the back, finished with a tiny little pink organza bow.
The Freya, Fantasie and Fauve ranges are available from department stores
and specialist lingerie stores as well as online through a number of
lingerie sites. |
