In The Footsteps Of Harrison Dextrose by Nick Griffiths is a curmudgeonly and hilarious novel being promoted as the ‘new Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy’ and described by Popbitch as ‘Cooler than David Hasselhoff in a room full of otters’.
The novel is Griffiths’s second book in a year, following on from the hugely popular Dalek I Loved you (published by Gollanz, paperback also out in April), and will be backed by a major promotional campaign along with high-street chain promotion.
Harrison Dextrose is no usual travel text, involving poodle-farming, the Frihedhag sisters, wilful consumerism, an unwanted but undaunted sidekick, one too many rodents and the 24-hour Iditamush sled race, starring a sausage dog. And along the way, Alexander may, or may not, help to save the world.
Tom Chalmers, Managing Director of Legend Press, commented: “We’re extremely excited about launching this novel. I’ve read it several times and still find myself laughing at each page. We believe this could be the travel story to end all travel stories as we knew them.”
Additionally, Legend Press have this week posted a video online featuring Nick Griffiths discussing the book, as a melon.
