SATC does the 80s and so do we!
Written by Neandra Etienne
All is going to be right with the world, because SATC is making a comeback. Once again our lives will be filled with outfits that will no doubt, inspire what we’re going to wear; after all fashion is a big part of what the show’s all about.
I love that we can identify with each of the character’s own unique style, which is mainly thanks to the costume designer Patricia Field. You have Carrie the Fashionista, who loves mixing it up by adding something old together with something new, Samantha oozes sex appeal with her tight dresses and fierce attitude, Charlotte is sensible chic and Miranda influenced by her high powered job works the power suit.
So let’s talk SATC and fashion. Now I know by now that, unless you haven’t left the house or turned on a computer, you should have already seen photos from the sequel. How excited was I to see that they’ve embraced all things 80s, which you’ll see during flash backs. This season (and next season I might add) has been all about the 80s, with the high street and catwalks filled with inspired pieces, for those too young to remember it first time around (myself included of course)
If like me you can’t wait till the movie, here’s some ideas on how to get Samantha’s look (she rocks the 80s trend for me) from the High Street now.
Samantha is all about unleashing her inner wide side in different style animal prints throw in some stud detailing, red boots and you’re good to go.
