Reflexology at Sen Spa, Harvey Nichols
review by Amy Castle

An avid fan of health regimes, treatments and new crazes, I was extremely excited to be having a session of reflexology.

For years, many have sworn by the practice of reflexology, claiming it has health benefits and can help diagnose conditions. I was keen to try it out, and slightly anxious as I’d heard tales of bruised feet from friends...

So what did the session involve? Firstly, my feet were soaked in a warm water and essential oil foot bath, to soften my skin. The therapist then applied cream and massaged my feet. It was very soothing, and I relaxed in the room as I drifted away from the bustling London noise outside the spa.

As the session went on, the pressure applied to my feet increased, and at times verged on painful. But after 30 minutes, the technician was able to tell me the problems she thought I had in my body.

And guess what? Every condition she described was spot-on. I was slightly cynical before, but after just one session I was really impressed with what my feet exposed about my health.

My digestion issues, sleep problems and back pains were all exposed from various pressure points in my feet. It was a shame I couldn’t feel any health benefits from the one session, but then again I didn’t expect to, and reflexology is said to help after several sessions, and not just the one, so I wasn’t disappointed. I left feeling really refreshed and although slightly sore on the ankle and calves, I was impressed with the experience.

I would definitely recommend e reflexology session if you’re wanting to find out about yourself, and after around six sessions, the benefits are said to be felt by all.

The reflexology session at Sen SPA at Harvey Nichols costs £45 for a 30-minute session, and £70 for a 60-minute session. Visit www.senhealth.com for more information.
