Lily Allen Launches Debut Collection for Lucy in Disguise
Written by Sarah Thomas
Not content with international superstardom and a successful venture into fashion retail, Lily Allen along with her sister Sarah Owen, is now set to join the ranks of Stella and co with the launch of their debut vintage-inspired collection under the Lucy in Disguise label.
The 18 piece ready-to-wear collection has been designed in conjunction with Oasis’ creative director Nadia Jones and draws inspiration from the twenties and onward. Lily explained to WWD that the collection was designed with Lucy in mind, a fictional ‘time-traveling fashionista who’s inviting you to explore her wardrobe.’ Key pieces, all beautifully named, include Chatsworth, a stunning green maxi-dress embroidered with gold sequins and Capone, an iconic thirties-style beaded black gown.
The collection will be available to buy from June this year both online and in the Lucy in Disguise store situated in Covent Garden as well as in Harvey Nichols. Outside of the UK, Lily’s capsule collection will appear in key stores such as Le Bon Marché in France and David Jones in Australia. Embracing the Lucy In Disguise brand ethos of affordable fashion, prices range from a very reasonable £95 to a slightly more eye-watering £350.
As sceptical as one might be when a celebrity with zero design credentials launches a fashion collection, if the sketches released by WWD are anything to go by, the collection will be breathtakingly beautiful and hopefully for Lily, a resounding success. |
